In centrally heated and largely air-conditioned,
spacious rooms, all with computer access, girls are taught by
experienced, qualified staff with specialist teaching from an early
age. There are specialist rooms for English and Mathematics with designated
and equipped accommodation for French, a Science laboratory, an ICT
suite, a large gymnasium, a drama studio, performance hall and a light
and airy Art studio. Much use is made of the specialist music/recital
room.

There is an unusually high ratio of staff to girls, thus ensuring that
every child experiences the individual care she needs to develop
confidence and intellectual curiosity.

The National Curriculum is used as a base for a stimulating timetable
in which art, music, dance and drama are all highly valued and taught
by specialists from Form III upwards. Our own concerts and plays are
much enjoyed as are visits to many exciting venues in and around
London.

Girls are prepared for the Common Entrance examinations used by many
boarding schools, as well as the variety of scholarship and entrance
examinations set by individual senior schools. Girls wishing to move to
Queen’s College take the papers set by the North London Consortium of Independent
Girls’ schools in the usual way: there is no automatic right of entry
to Queen’s College at 11+.

Individual music lessons on instruments other than brass but including
voice are readily available for girls aged 6 and above; Pupils are
prepared for the appropriate examinations and for music awards at
senior schools if sufficiently able.
Every child has some physical education daily
(weather permitting).
