Since 1 September 2008 all schools in the maintained and independent sectors are required by law to follow the Government’s Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The children make progress towards the early learning goals set out in the EYFS framework through six areas of learning:
The teachers plan under these headings (with many activities interlinked) placing an appropriate emphasis on developing literacy, numeracy and social skills. The children also benefit from some specialist teaching from the outset in French, Music, Ballet and PE.
